McKinsey & Company developed a daily dashboard to track and report the ’10 million meals’ campaign distribution operations to ensure efficient food delivery to beneficiaries across the country.
The dashboard, which is part of McKinsey & Company’s role in managing the operations and logistics of the ’10 million meals’ campaign, gathers feedback to optimize and enhance the food distribution process through the holy month of Ramadan.
The global consulting partner worked closely with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) to orchestrate logistics with food suppliers and charity organizations, identifying the roles and responsibilities of all involved stakeholders to ensure smooth food distribution to communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic across the country. Its platforms helped ensure efficiency and optimal use of resources and timeliness of food delivery to beneficiaries at a time of urgency.
The McKinsey & Company’s specialized teams helped design the ’10 million meals’ campaign to engage the right partners from restaurants, grocery retailers and logistics providers to charity organizations.
Viktor Hediger, senior partner at McKinsey & Company, said, “These are extraordinary times and for many of us, the UAE is our home. We are inspired by the UAE’s leadership and humbled by the opportunity to have played a small role in supporting our most vulnerable communities through this important initiative.”
Melvina Tarazi, partner at McKinsey & Company, said, “The way that individuals, businesses, charities and volunteers have rallied together to deliver meals to those in need, is a wonderful expression of the compassion and spirit of this special country. I am truly grateful to be able to give back to a community that I have called home for decades.”
Adel Al Falasi, senior advisor at McKinsey & Company, said, “It’s one of my proudest moments as an Emirati to see how the crisis revealed the nation’s solidarity and spirit of giving and how people stand together to give back to the community.”
Under the supervision of MBRGI and the Social Solidarity Fund Against Covid-19, meals and food parcels are delivered in a logistical distribution network developed in collaboration with partnering entities to reach beneficiaries across the country. Launched in April, the ’10 million meals’ campaign enables individuals, public and private entities, and humanitarian organizations to make financial and in-kind donations towards providing meals and food parcels to low-income individuals and families across the country during the holy month of Ramadan.
Financial donations to provide meals and food parcels are received through the ’10 million meals’ campaign official website www.10millionmeals.ae, SMS or bank transfer with details listed online. In-kind donations are received through the toll-free number 8004006.
