With just over a month to go, Fruit Attraction 2025, organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, is set for a record-breaking edition. The trade fair has already reached 95% occupancy with 72,700 m² booked and expects to bring together over 2,500 exhibitors and 120,000 professionals from 150 countries from 29 September to 2 October.
Consolidated as one of the world’s leading events for the fruit and vegetable industry, the exhibition will expand across 10 halls, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and knowledge exchange.
Among its highlights are the Innovation Hub Awards, recognising the most innovative and sustainable projects in three categories (Fresh Produce, Sustainability and Commitment Actions). Each award carries a €2,000 prize, with winners announced during the fair. The Best Stand Awards will also reward creativity, design, and sustainability among exhibitors in four categories: Most Original; Best Design; Most Sustainable and People’s Choice.
A strategic event for the industry
With the tomato featuring as this year’s star product, the programme of activities surrounding it will be focused on its nutritional value, economic impact and geopolitics in international trade. There will be round table discussions, tasting sessions, crop demonstrations and market analysis, including the EU-Morocco agreement and its effect on EU production.
Also noteworthy is the participation of Malaysia and Mexico as Guest Importing Countries, which will join the powerful Buyers Programme that, with the collaboration of MAPA and ICEX, will be inviting more than 700 buyers from all over the world. Also being organised by ICEX is the World Fresh Forum, the series of webinars featuring experts and trade professionals focusing on Mexico, Malaysia and China, taking place on 15, 16 and 17 September.
The Organic Hub Tour, a specially marked route within the exhibition, will highlight certified organic products, while the fair’s Technical Forums will offer a wide range of expert-led conferences on industry trends and challenges.
Running from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (closing at 4:00 p.m. on the final day), Fruit Attraction 2025 reaffirms its role as a strategic global platform for business, innovation, and international trade in the fruit and vegetable sector.
